The most important position on the field is the catcher. They are the quarterback of a baseball team. Yet, it is the least taught position on the field. Majority of coaches tell a catcher to catch bullpens then be done. How can you expect a catcher to get better if they're not working on their craft? Catching is like everything else, it needs time and hard work to get better.
Our Catching Program is a series of 1 hour classes scheduled twice a week for 8 weeks (a total of 16 classes). It is designed to extend the skills of baseball/softball catchers. Each player will get their own packet which will show the progress from day 1 to day 16.
Focus will be becoming a well rounded player at the catching position. On top of training focus points below, the youth catchers will learn how to continue their development and skills with at home and pregame drills. High School level catchers will learn about strength training to become stronger and faster.
Some points the training focuses on: - Footwork - Blocking - Framing - Strength and Conditioning - Agility & Quickness - Mental Preparation - Situations: learning where to be at all times. - Throwing technique - Arm Strength
